Yet more FWAGS...
On the back of #FWAGWSCCS (FWAGS Wearing SCC Shits) on the blog Mrs Bumwell, wife of the all time legend, most SCC trophies ever won golfer Pete "Legend" Bumwell, has been seen sporting the Pennard outfit. She did want to wear the Tenby outfit, but since this has been signed, mounted and put up for auction under the title, "Shirt worn by the winner - Bumwell - on what was definately the best ever SCC" she will have to just wear another of the winning shirts instead.
We did have time to conduct a short interview with her and managed to ask a few questions on Bumwells warm up and preparations for this years SCC competition.
"Well, its been an interesting time for him. Normally i dont see Pete at this time of year due to all of the promo and charity work he does to get in the right frame of mind. This year though, i couldn't get him out of the house. He seems to be a broken man, sitting and staring at that wooden spoon monstrosity. He's in a dark place, he just keeps quivering and chanting "blob, blob, blob". I even tried to feed him some Guinness from his 5 time winning tankard, and he just spat it out saying it tasted like defeat. Im sure that his return to Aberdovey will be just the thing he needs, as i know the last time he was there he was speechless for days!"
Bumwell - who has been in and out of the Priory since the last SCC competition is now said to be in a stable condtion and has managed to reach 1 1/2 pints of Pimms a day before his practise rounds, hoping to get back to the 2 pints for this years comp. Butch had this to say, " he seems to be hitting it consistenty passed the ladies, which is a marked improvement since the last time he appeared at the Dovey."
On the contoversial question of the number of balls Bumwell lost he had this to say, "look ... i dont know if it was 12, 14 or 18, what ever it was, it was a lot. Pete knows this, the public know it and i know it. We have to put the past in the past and look towards this years comp and i can say that i am fully confident he will definately not lose more than 20, and for me thats a good thing. Yes his pre-SCC warm up for this year has been ropey at best, i mean starting with a triple bogey on the first comp of the year without losing a ball is always gonna get you down, but he's just gotta go out there and enjoy himself and not play like a total twat, which for him is going to be difficult."
For now all we can say is good luck to all the SCCers and may the best team win!

FWAGS get in on the act...
With only days to go before SCC9, a new craze sweeps the
nation and the FWAGS are all over the action.
Here, Clare Smeddon models a vintage Pennard 2009 number...
Put on your retro SCC shirt for the lads!
That's right. 2009, Pennard. I wonder how much she paid for it on eBay.
And here Kate Matkinson seems to have bought herself the same shirt!..
Great work FWAGS!
Really getting into the spirit of it.
See you all on Thursday.
NOT Wednesday, Nick and Seds.
Anyway, I heard Royal St Davids has come down in the world since SCC2...

Williams Snr Stays True to Routine
As last years warm up at the local driving range seemed to work ok for me, I've done the same again. Just a few balls was all I needed to know...
BOOM!
THROUGH THE KEYHOLE
Welcome to this special celebrity edition of Through the Keyhole. We have the privilege this week of visiting the home of one of the group of elite golfers who competes annually at the SCC, a competition I'm sure our viewers will be familiar with.
So lets get straight to it; here's the first view through the keyhole into the home of this weeks special guest.
Hmmm. Not too much to be gained from that one, but I can reveal that the person that lives here is a massive C. Maybe the second view might give us a bit more of a clue.
Ah; I think its now clear that we're looking at a trophy, possibly sitting on somebody's sideboard in pride of place. And there's a photograph behind the trophy too.
Yes, I was right; it's the SCC Wooden Spoon trophy. That narrows it down to one of three people in last years loosing team. Don't forget, with this years competition looming, that trio will be expected to serve up a breakfast fit for kings.
Hello Peter Bumwell! Thank you for sharing your home with us today, you massive C.

Pot C’s President C announces SCC 9 preparations
Buckinghamshire’s Basement SCC pin-up, President C Seds’ PR team were extremely vocal today, with the crowd favourites schedule hitting the media airwaves. Following a fall from SCC 7 Champion and holder of the famous White No1 Golfer Mug, it has been a tough year for the big hitting engaged northerner. Speaking after a cruel double count back decision, denying him a first win on the Crown Jewels 2014 Tour with a credible 33pts around the tight Chiltern Forest, Mr President said “I’ve gone through some major swing changes and Butch has been very patient with me. I would have had more time with the worlds best coaches but that w*nker McIlroy had hogged them all, panicking with his shitty Nike clubs. I am looking forward though to giving the new putter as many hits as possible and I know Aberdovey won’t let me down”.
With some impressive performances at the end of last season with a win over Matt Kinson at the Highgate Open and Nick Faldo in a Midlands Challenge, the odds of C seds conquering again have been slashed across the bookies.
Mr President will begin his preparation tour with a Matt Kinson v Seds 2013 Highgate GC Open decider (sponsored by Aberdovey’s 18th unreadable green) on Fri 9th May. From here Seds heads to Royal St Davids on Wed 14th May for a charity match, Faldo V Massive C (sponsored by Motocaddy). With one links knock under his belt, he then heads for the annual Big Wangs Open, this year hosted by Borth GC. The 2014 teams will also be drawn at this event as an SCC first!
“It’s going to be an awesome event. I can’t wait for the annual scramble for a decent room, the Captains Quiz and the general bullshit in the air. Roll on SCC 9 and LET’S……GET……BLOBBY!!!!"

As the 2014 version of the most anticipated annual event in
sports nears, tension is beginning to mount amongst the competitors. While Aberdovey
prepares to host the SCC for the second time, this will provide no crumbs of
comfort to those who ventured on to the revered links in 2007. Here, we take a
look back at the top 4 memorable moments from the first visit all those years
ago:
4. Propping up the Top 4 is the weather. While SCC
competitors are not adverse to a bit of wind, 2007 was not played in a ‘bit of
wind’ – drivers going 150 yards, wedges moving further sideways than forwards
and putts veering of line were………………………all characteristics of Pi Sorters game,
and then the wind started to blow!!!! Should the weather conditions repeat, we
are all looking forward to the first shot in SCC history to go backwards –
Matthew Miller, you have been warned, skyed 5 irons are no good here!!!!!!!
3. In third place is the birth of ‘You have to take the
rough with the smooth’ – An unassuming hole, no more than 300 yards, a train
track running down the left with undulations in front of the green. The author
of this article did not see the offending shot however he is led to believe it
went something like this. A tight match was ensuing between Team Liverpool and
Team Nottingham when Pi Sorter steps up to play his second into the green, a
slight top, a bounce off a grassy knoll, through a bunker, over the bridge,
through the windmill, past the clowns down the ramp to settle by the side of
the hole. The shot however, is not what makes the Top 3 but the reaction of
Team Liverpool member Mattkinson which folklore shows was more akin to a 3
three year old who has just dropped his favourite teddy in the mud!!!!
2. In second place is Team Liverpool again – picture the
scene, each player (including serial wanger Chris Seddon) with a 2 foot putt to
halve the match – a formality surely. ‘Don’t worry partner, I’ve got this’ came
the shout from Seddon, however the joker hadn’t taken into account the vicious
inch of break and his putt slid by. Nevermind, they can’t miss both can they –
the rest, as they say, is history and one of the most jaw dropping moments
since Ben Williams was photographed with his todger out on the back nine at
Pyle & Kenfig!!
1. Taking the ‘plaudits’ on the top of the podium however,
and there can be no doubts or arguments about this one, comes everyone’s
favourite Massive C and can be summed up in 2 words – 14 BALLS!!!! How one
person can come to lose so many balls in one round of golf without walking off
is beyond me – how you can continue to hit the same shot on to the railway line
time after time is beyond me – how the same person can be the most successful
SCC competitor of all time is also beyond me (drug testing has since been
introduced) - all I can say is Thank god the format of the SCC has changed for this visit to Aberdovey!!!!
